A Democrat, he grew up in Indonesia, studied at Columbia and Harvard universities, and served in the U.S. Senate before becoming the first African American president. Before that, he was a lawyer, teacher and community organizer. In foreign policy, Obama withdrew some troops from Iraq and Afghanistan and ordered the mission that killed Osama Bin Laden.
