One every November 11, at 11:00 a.m., the American people honor all the men ans women who have gave their life to the United States armed services. The time was chosen because the hour was hour of World War I ended in 1918. President Wilson didn't wanted the people to forget the war, so in 1919 he made it a holiday called Armistice Day on November 11. In 1954, the name Armistice Day was changed to Veterans Day.

On November 11, 1921, the body of the unknown soldiers was buried to Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. Everybody calls this place the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers. The soldiers who was buried in Arlington National Cemetery was killed in the World War I. Nobody ones who they were. This is why it is called the Unknown Soldiers. The American people were not honoring just one unknown soldiers it is more than one soldier. They are honoring all members of the United States armed services.
