Labor Day is on the first Monday in September. we celebrate Labor Day because it honors all the hard working people. founder of Labor Day who first propose the holiday for workers some records show that peter J. was the inventor of Labor Day. In New York City, it is said that in September 15 1882 thousand of workers marched from city hall to union square. Two years later it was declared that Labor Day should be on the first Monday.All the New York workers encourage other city's to celebrate Labor Day . Many workers had to march and didn't get paid or worked . Oregon became the first state to illegal Labor Day as a holiday in 1887 New York fallow them.

Now people celebrate Labor Day by spending some time with the family and friends . Some people have cookouts or go camping and picnic .
